'Bach Concertante' on La Palma

The International Bach Festival goes on tour to Santa Cruz de La Palma presenting ‘Bach Concertante’ at the Teatro Circo de Marte. The concert takes place on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at 20:00 in the monumental building of La Palma’s.

The musical program is part of the Festival in La Palma and is supported by the Cabildo de La Palma and the Ministry of Culture and Historical Heritage. IBF Canarias program celebrates its 5th edition this year. There will be a great number of outstanding orchestra and chamber music concerts during this Holy Week, including some of Bach’s most famous works.

V. Edition of IBF Canarias during Easter Week

The International Bach Festival returns to Gran Canaria this Easter from April 13 to 20, 2019. At the arrival of spring visitors can combine a visit to the beach with listening to some of the most beautiful music ever written.
In his fifth edition IBF Canarias has definitely claimed its place in the calender of international classical music festivals. Professional musicians form more than twenty nationalities sharing the stage, including many recognized international soloists, musicians from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam and their colleagues from the Philharmonic Orchestra of Gran Canaria.

Succesful school and family concerts IBF Canarias

Also in its 5th edition IBF Canarias presents a series of didactic concerts for schoolchildren and families. From 9 to 12 April, about 2,000 Primary students will visit the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium. These concerts are made possible in collabroation with the educational project of the Foundation of the Auditorio and the Teatro of Las Palmas (FAT).

The program includes some of the moste beautiful Baroque music ever written, including works by Purcell, Haendel, Lully, Couperin, Telemann, Zelenka, Marcello, Vivaldi, Leo and Soler. They will be performed by the Ornati Quartet -Sergio Marrero and Adrián Marrero, violins; Adriana Ilieva, viola and Carlos Rivero, violoncello. Other performers include Jürgen Faller, double bass, Sheila Ramos, harpsichord, Verónica Cruz, oboe, and the narrator Ricardo Ducatenzeiler.

Prize winners IBF Competition

IBF Canarias organizes a competiton for young Canarian musicians in collaboration with the Fundación MAPFRE Guanarteme. Being held for the third time this contest strives to encourage talented young musicians from the Canary Islands. It offers opportunities for studying and performing all musical instruments and master classes. Congratulations to the winners of this year’s competition!
